MY HEART, MY SOUL, MY LIFE
To love someone long-term is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be.
The people they're too exhausted to be any longer.
The people they don't recognize inside themselves anymore.
The people they grew out of, the people they never ended up growing into.
We so badly want the people we love to get their spark back when it burns out; to become speedily found when they are lost.
But it is not our job to hold anyone accountable to the people they used to be.
It is our job to travel with them between each version and to honor what emerges along the way.
Sometimes it will be an even more luminescent flame.
Sometimes it will be a flicker that disappears and temporarily floods the room with a perfect and necessary darkness

Anita, you were my 1st childhood friend. I have many great memories of growing up on east 24th street and ave T. We lived outdoors and played all kinds of games, stoop ball, Johnny on the pony, hopscotch, red light green light and many others. We went with my grandfather to the 65 world's fair, palisades, NYC and other fun places. We would make snow forts, sled down the hill, go shopping on Avenue U,and eat alot of junk from Esters candy store. We would get italian ices from the pizzeria after playing
with all the other kids till it got dark out in the summer We had a lot of fun!
I'm sorry that we did not keep in touch for many years until Facebook came along.
My deepest sympathy to your family. I hope they will enjoy some of these photos. May you rest in peace. Until we meet up again

I will miss you dearly. Your love and light will never have a measure. You were a force to be reckoned with we all knew that clearly. You were the one that pulled our family all together. Thoughts of you giving me crap and taking care of your grandkids I will always treasure forever..
