Obituary of Matthew Brian LaRocca

Matthew Brian LaRocca, 55, of Middlesex, NC passed away on Friday May 19, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Jeannine LaRocca. He was raised in Manalapan, NJ, the third of six in a large and loving family including a pack
of cats and dogs. Matt was a volunteer firefighter for nearly 15 years, alongside his brothers, and worked as an auto mechanic, proudly earning his Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician certification. He was a friend to all, always smiling with an easygoing sense of humor
that was endearing to everyone he met. Matt had a great love for animals, from adopting pets from shelters to helping animals on the roadside. He had recently relocated to North Carolina in 2021 with his beloved wife Kari, where they built a home with their cherished, and slightly spoiled, rescue pets. He was happiest tending to the lawn, planning a garden, and applying his handyman skills to set up their new home.

Predeceased by his wonderful parents and Ralph, his cherished dog and companion. He is survived by his beloved wife Kari LaRocca, their Fur Babies, Sister Lana LaRocca Serencko (Steve), Brothers Keith (Lisa), Danny (Katie), Chris (Liz) and Scott (Lora), Mother in Law Karen Timmons, Sister in Law Kierston Van Soest (Justin), 12 Nieces and Nephews, a Great Nephew and Niece, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Life Long Friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Freeman Funeral Home, 344 US 9 North in Manalapan, NJ 07726, on Saturday June 3, 2023 from 1pm- 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Matt’s name to your favorite Animal Rescue and Shelter.
