I only found out recently that Matt passed away. I knew him from high school. Our school wasn’t very open to new kids, but I will always remember how kind, friendly, and funny Matt was. He was one of the very few people who didn’t make me feel like an outsider. We reconnected briefly years later and I wasn’t surprised to see that he grew into a wonderful man. I’m so sorry this happened to you, Matt. You deserved better, you were one of the good ones. May your soul be at peace in a much better world than this one.

I am saddened to hear of Matts passing. It been decades since I last saw him. He must of been 17 or 18 and just recall that he was mild nature but a man with a sense of adventure. My condolences to all those that loved him. Just know he’s at peace and with loved ones who have passed on.- Bill Beebe

My cousin Matthew always had a sly but fast wit. At first he would come off as the quietest of the brothers but then he often would have something very funny to say and bring out the laughter in us all. RIP cousin

Matt was one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure and privilege of knowing. His kind and gentle spirit spoke volumes about him, even though he always had such a laid back and unassuming nature. I first met Matt when he would bring old man Ralph to our office for his many appointments, and I am proud to say he later became my friend. His love for Kari was immense, and one of my favorite memories was how he would often treat her to “Princess Day.” He would happily drop everything to help anyone who needed it, and he was an absolute blessing to this world. My heart goes out to Kari and all of his family and friends. We are truly lucky to have known him.

The first time I met Matt I was walking my Maltese Maya, and Matt was walking Ralph. The two dogs instantly liked each other. I really think Maya was infatuated with Ralph.. We had bumped into each other on occasion and while the two dogs were enjoying each other, I had asked Matt if he knew of a dog walker/sitter. It just so happened Kari and her friend Susie became my animals best friends and dog sitters.
Matt was always smiling, pleasant and I could tell how much he loved Kari just by the way he beamed talking about her.
My sincere condolences to Kari and the rest of Matt's family and friends.
Sincerely,
Diane Judkins

Matt was my childhood brother and cousin. Some of my very fondest memories of my youth are spending time with him and the rest of the LaRocca family. I could laugh at any time remembering when he fell into the reflecting pool, or crying on his big-wheel during the BIG RACE. From hanging out with the family in the summer months at their home in Jersey or huge big family get togethers at my Aunt Pegs house. I had not seen Matt in many years, but that never stopped me from remembering him often and laughing at memories when I told people the stories that I held close of my youth. I loved you like a brother Matt. You will forever be in my thoughts. Till we meet again.
