Obituary of George G. Martz sr

George Martz, 63, of Freehold, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Forbach, France, he lived in Maplewood, NJ for ten years before moving to Freehold 28 years ago. He graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood/South Orange, class of 1970, where he was a two-time NJ State All Star in lacrosse, and he continued his lacrosse career at the University of Maryland, College Park where he graduated in 1975 after winning two NCAA lacrosse championships. George worked for Summit Bank in Summit for over 20 years before joining Indus American Bank, Iselin as controller.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; two children, Krystyn and George Gregory Jr.; his mother, Olga; and sister, Lydia Jargowsky.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, Jan. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a funeral service at 6 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. Interment will be private.
