I worked with George for many years at Summit Bank. It is thanks to him, who got me my first internal audit job in the internal audit department there at Summit, that I am still in internal auditing and banking today. I will never forget how since the minute he hired me, he handed me a giant "green-and-white stripped" computer print out of a general ledger and said, "Here, can you foot this for me?" - Well, here I am 23 years later still involed in internal audit. George was like a second father to me and a great friend. I will remember him for his beautiful smile, bubbly personality, and just an all around great person. George, you have made an impression on my heart from way back when and you will truely be missed.

In high school, George and I played on rival lacrosse teams - Maplewood vs. Fair Lawn. George played in an all-star game that was significant for all New Jersey lacrosse players. In the summer of 1970, an all-star game was played between the New Jersey All-Stars and the "Baltimore 22." It was played before the college North-South All-American game. Baltimore was heavily favored. George had 3 goals and 3 assits to help lead New Jersey to an 11-8 victory. After the game, George and I were offered scholarships to play lacrosse at the University of Maryland. That game paved the way for New Jersey lacrosse players to be recruited by the major college powers. I got to know George at Maryland and considered him a good friend during those college years. Tipped a few bears together during those years. Even shared a house after college. I remember going to the Rolling Stones concert with him (probably 1975); he knew one of the ticket takers (George knew a lot of people and had a lot of friends), so we got in for nothing and had a great time. My deepest sympathy to Debbi and family.

Dear Debbie and Family,
Rich and I are so heartbroken to hear this sad nws. We loved our gathering at the Cabin with the gang. The time spent together, although always to short, was filled with lots of love and laughter among old friends who may not see each other daily but were able to pick up right where we left off....We will treasure those times forever.....and will always hold a special place in our hearts of George....We are here if you need anything. You and he family are in our prayers. Our love, Rich and Denise Abrahamian.

Debbie, Lorelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to you and the kids.I am so sorry we will be away for the services. I will dearly miss George on the golf course. We had sooo much fun playing with and against each other in matches. George was full of laughter and funny stories about college, work and home. It was way to soon for him to leave us. Through all the heartache you will experience, please know that George was loved and respected by his friends and we carry great memories of our time with him. All our love, Mike & Lorelle Gormley.

My sincerest condolences to Debbie and family ( including Molly). It was my pleasure to know and work with George for many years. He had a "joie de vivre" which embraced everyone he met. I am better for having known this gentle man.
