Obituary of Gertrude Skehan

Gertrude Skehan 96, of Freehold, passed away at The Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation in Shrewsbury on November 27, 2021.  She was born and raised in Woonsocket, RI and has resided in Freehold for over 50 years. Gertrude was a Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. Prior to her retirement, she was a Court Attendant with The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.  Gertrude was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Freehold.

Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1994; siblings Antoinette, Pauline. Regina, Florence and Henry. She is survived by her children Kathleen, Stephen, Regina (Joe), Andrew (Lyn) and Robert (Sandra); 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main St. Freehold on Tuesday November 30, 2021 from 4pm-8pm. A Funeral liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at 12:00 noon.  Committal will be private.
