Obituary of John Richard D'Almeida
John R. D’Almeida , 73, of Marlboro, N.J. formerly of Edison, Montclair, and Califon, N.J. died Friday, April 24, 2020 at Bayshore Hospital, Holmdel. John was born September 10, 1946, the son of Manuel J. D’Almeida and Melva Bristow D’Almeida. John grew up in Newark, NJ and attended Arts High School. He then went on to attend Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and received a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from The Maryland Institute College of Art. During his high school and college years John spent many hours working at Manny’s Servicecenter on Wilson Avenue in Newark; alongside his father, mother and uncle. In addition, John served honorably with the NJ National Guard from 1970-1976.
In 1975 he established Senektik Graphiks, a graphics design company, which he operated until his retirement. John loved his family, fly fishing, his English Springer Spaniels, photography and travels out west.
Surviving are daughters Dina (Salvatore) Falletta of Manalapan, NJ; Tara Padilla of Howell, NJ; Son Austin (Melissa) D’Almeida of Wantage, NJ and daughter Amber (John) Salvato of Caldwell, NJ; eight grandchildren, Gianna, Christina, Daniella, Isabella, Aidan, Garrett, John, and Stella; sisters Louise (Karl) Paintner of Westfield, PA, Mary (Arthur) Hynes of Park Ridge, NJ and Shirl (LaNora Klatt) D’Almeida of Broken Arrow, OK. He was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Melva (Bristow) D’Almeida.
