I'm very sorry to learn of Larry's passing. I just found out and wanted to express my condolences. We first met while Larry was running Seal-O-Matic with his mom, Sherry. We stayed in touch through the years. He was a nice person and genuine.
I felt lucky to know him.

The first time I met Larry Krompier was before he worked with us at the NJ Chamber of Commerce. He came to the Chamber's Open House. After the event, I remember saying to Ric and Ray: Who was that guy??? He talked to us like he already knew us. Like he already was our colleague. And he had this great laugh and a confidence. Who was that guy??? A great listener, even though he was way more interesting than most people. Definitely way more funny. Still, he listened as much as he spoke. He had a mischievous side too. That was the pirate in him. A refined pirate. He liked the finer things. He was the pirate that found the buried treasure. That treasure is Noreen and the girls. He was lucky to have them. It was way too soon. Just like that first time we met Larry, it felt like he was able to squeeze a lot of life into a small amount of time. Just look at the pictures. There are no boring photos of Larry. That reflects his personality. He loved life. Loved good food. Loved good clothes. Nice watches. Loved his boat. Kept it clean. Yet loved to share it with the people in his orbit. He had tons of stories about the marina life. Everybody knew when he spent the weekend on the boat. The deep tan on Monday gave it away! There were very few short meetings with Larry because he would either get you to tell a good story or he would tell a great story. There is magic in that. And I never regretted those meetings, those conversations. What else would I rather be doing? Good looking guy. Amazing communicator. Even through the stuff at the end, he neither sought pity from us nor did he hide it. He talked about it in a comfortable way. He would put you at ease. Years back, when it came time to hire a new vice president at the Chamber, lo and behold, our boss Tom hired that mysterious guy we met at the Open House. And finally, now, after getting to spend a lot of time with him - at events, at meetings, for drinks, at diners, on the boat - we finally got the answer to our question: Who is that guy??? That guy was Captain Larry Krompier, the refined pirate who found the treasure and took us for a great ride.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Larry Krompier. I knew Larry though my involvement with the NJCC as a representative of Kean University. Larry asked me to host a NJCC breakfast, which I did. He then stated that I should post holiday greetings through NJCC to expand my client list...which I did. Larry was truly a dedicated employee of NJCC. He was one of the members who made it a point to welcome me as a member. I am sure he will be missed.

Larry was always excited to work with the Joint Base and those in the military. You couldn't find someone better who truly had passion to support the military and try to connect the public with the important work the Joint Base is doing. We lost an advocate and friend.
