We started out as neighbors in 1972 and over these past 47 years we enjoyed the fun times with Martha, Artie and their family. Fishing and crabbing on the weekend, going to the gas dock numerous times, enjoying sumptuous pepperoni, cheese and Sam’s Club desserts, listening to the oldies but never getting the words correct, playing Uno and Trivial Pursuit and Martha catching the “boys” cheating and watching Martha and Artie sneak cigarettes like 8th graders while fishing in the ocean.
Martha changed a shy shopper into a shopping maven and taught Cathy how to conquer any store return policy, “It never hurts to ask”. We remember the kitchen counter loaded with pink call slips as Martha “managed” the Appliance business and gave new meaning to customer interactions and satisfaction.
She was a good and generous mom and grandmother and always was there for her family. Since our families were out of state we relied on each other for back up, Martha was always a trusting and loving person to our family.
We will miss Martha but are lucky that she left us with fond memories and funny stories to tell.
Love, Cathy & Tony Russo

I remember being guests of Artie and Martha on their boat after soon Bill and Kim were married. We had great times and became hooked on boating after that. Also remember Martha and I spent the night in the hospital waiting room awaiting the arrival of our first grandson, Ryan. John and Artie left for a motel room but that is a story in itself. Always enjoyed being in Martha’s company.
