Obituary of Mary Diane Kiely

Mary D. Kiely, 87, of Freehold Township, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, the youngest of nine children, she was raised in Nassau County, LI, moving to Freehold in 1968. Mary was a registered nurse graduating from Adelphi University, Long Island, NY in 1948. She was a stewardess for Pan American Airlines from 1948 to 1951and then worked as a nurse for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp., LI, NY. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold and a Eucharistic Minister for both the church and CentraState Medical Center. Mary was also a long time member of the Sweet Adelines Club, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1993. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Thomas and Faith, Stephen, Daniel, Andrew and Kim, Jennifer and George Kelder, and Marianne and Chris Lo Presti; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Nevin, Benjamin, Christopher, Matthew, Michael, Aidan and Ronan. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 20th, from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM, at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
