To the Kiely Family,
I can hardly believe I just found this. I am so saddened to have missed another visit with this wonderful lady. I would know your mother anywhere. The rest of you have grown, as I have, and I would not know you if you were right in front of me. However, your mother I would recognize anywhere. She was such a lovely and caring and kind person.
I met Mrs. Kiely, as I was raised to call her, in 1961 when we moved to Mosby Woods. I have fond memories of Andrew, Jennifer, and Maryanne. Maryanne was the first baby I ever held. I loved hanging out at their house. Mrs. Kiely always busy taking care of everyone.
When the Kiely family moved in 1968 a part of me left with them. In 1975 Mary brought Jennifer and Maryanne to Atlantic City while I was there. Handed me the keys to her station wagon and sent us to the store. I couldn't believe it. The last time I saw her was at Jennifer's wedding to George in I believe 1982. What a wonderful wedding and Mrs. Kiely was such a great host and friend.
I truly miss her and the entire Kiely family. Jesus has a wonderful angle with him. I'm sure Mrs. Kiely and my mother are still watching over all of us and chatting away with each other.
God Bless,
Christ Coverston (DeeCee Moyer)

There are so many adjectives to describe Aunt Smitty. She was smart and resourceful, kind and generous. Sweet and gentle, a real lady. Talking with her, you knew she was really listening to what you had to say. She truly cared....about everyone. And I loved it when during those conversations she'd throw in a word or phrase in Italian...too funny! I will remember and miss all this about her.
Aunt Smitty could look at a photo and give you names for every one of the faces in it. It didn't matter how old the photo was, or in what condition. She'd tell you the relationships of those faces to each other as well as to the rest of the family....sometimes even birthdays, dates or places of weddings, and births or where the photo might have been taken. She was amazing! A true family historian. That's because family is what mattered most to her. And it showed. Now, whenever I see an old family photo I'll miss her even more.
Rest in peace, Dear Aunt Smitty...know that you will be missed. Please give my dad a hug for me. He's waiting for you with the rest of the family.
Carol (Guarrera) Cataruzolo

Aunt Smitty felt a strong responsibility to represent "the family" at all affairs and occasions. She went to "everything" she was invited to. She never missed an opportunity to be with family and enjoy and event or occasion. She had the ability to make new family members feel welcome and loved and she had the ability to make each one of us feel "special". Like we were the only one she loved. Everyone looked forward to seeing her. Alway a pleasue to have to have in our homes and such wonderful company.
She taught us all to love family, hold family together, enjoy life and all that it has to give. Be with each other to celebrate the joys and be there to support and carry each other through in the hard times.
It is the responsibility of each of us to carry on that love and joy. Its why we are on this earth and why she was born to this family. A gift given each one of us.
Rest in Peace our Beloved Aunt Smitty - Your Mom, Dad, Sisters and Brothers are so happy to have you home and we look forward to being united with you again.

Growing up next door to the Kielys meant spending hours upon hours there. Mare and I would have many sleep overs. Mrs. Kiely was always very sweet until we made her mad, jumping on the bed, clogging the sink drain...shed get ya! I so admire her devotion to her family always had family visiting. Huge pots on the stove with ocean creatures in it. I ate at my house. Never knew what she'd throw in that tomato sauce. Her undying faith in God got her thru many family hardships and she always kept her chin up. Would jump in and cook or clean for any neighbor that needed a hand. She'd get friends to clean too "5 minutes thats it it'll be quick" we did. I respected her and knew she loved me. Heaven has another angel.

To the Kiely Family,
We only knew Mary Kiely for a brief time. Our first memory of meeting Mary was that she was so gracious, kind & beautiful. Her smile lit up the room.
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
Love,
