Obituary of Jerome C. Messana

Jerome C. Messana, 27, of Freehold Township, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Born in Staten Island, he lived in Marlboro before moving to Freehold two years ago. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Marlboro. Jerry was a 2004 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft and in 2010 graduated from Monmouth University in West Long Branch where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He is survived by his wife, Amanda and their Boston Terrier, Nelson; his parents, Jerome and Valerie of Lincroft; siblings, Christopher and Brenna of Lincroft; paternal grandmother, Gen Maniscalco of Middletown; his mother and father-in-law, Nina and John Sofield of Freehold; and his sister and brother-in-law, Blair and Joe Falzon of Freehold. Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM in the gymnasium of St. Gabriel's Church, Route 79, Marlboro. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
