Cant believe a year has gone by since we lost you. Miss you everyday. Mom and I talk several times a week, and now as in the past, our stories turn into "JJ Stories" They always did lol. You did a lot of living in your 28 years. We have some rough days and the holidays were hard without you and your beautiful smiling face at the table on Christmas Eve was so missed.
Everyone gets signs from you and we feel you with us all the time. It helps me knowing how you lived your life to the fullest each and everyday! You were a one in a million kind of guy!
Love you and miss you like crazy,
Aunt Ad

Time goes by so fast and so slow. Already a year has gone by. But no matter how much time passes there will always be an empty spot in the hearts of Jerome's family and friends that won't be filled until they see him again. The promise found at John 5:28,29 gives us hope that there will be a time when we will see him again. And in the book of Job 14:14,15 we see that God has a yearning to reunite us with our loved ones. Again I'm so sorry for your loss. My sincere, heartfelt condolences.

Your love of family was so obvious every time we were together. 28 years with you was not enough, but the memories and the wonderful times we had together are more than most people experience in 100 years. You will always be in our hearts and we will remember how you lived your life with courage and grace. Till we meet again my JJ...Love Aunt Ad & Uncle Frank

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry and his family about 5 years ago. He used to come into my old job and we would talk for hours. There were entire afternoons where Jerry and Chris would keep me company and we would watch college football for hours. I'm grateful to say that we became friends. Not long after, Jerry invited me to come work for him. I'm still with that company today. If I ever had a day when I was feeling down, I, by some miracle, would always get a surprise call or text from him asking how I was doing. It's almost like he could sense when someone needed a friend. He always put other people first and would rather know how you were doing than talk about himself. Jerry was always smiling and always remained positive. His constant strength and bravery are what makes him a true hero in my book. I'm sad to lose a friend, but I'm grateful knowing that he will be in heaven watching over us like the true angel that he is. Thank you Jerry for everything you have done for myself and all of the other lives you touched. My condolences to the entire Messana family.

Met Jerry in 1997 playing in the St. Gabe's basketball league and reconnected in 2001 in CYO. Too many stories to share in such a small space. They all had one thing in common though they all ended with a laugh and a smile, except the time I landed on his foot playing volleyball and sprained my ankle that hurt too much to smile. A truly great person who could always brighten my day just by being around him. I am sure I am far from the only one who feels that way, we'll miss you Chief. FFQ will always live on in spirit.

Jerry will be greatly missed. Though I had graduated a few years prior, I was fortunate enough to get to know him through Sigma Pi and immediately could see that he was going to make an impact. I will never forget seeing him for the first time returning to Monmouth after he'd been treated. Though his body was clearly weakened, he was wearing a smile from ear to ear from just being able to be back together with everyone and exhibited his truly unbreakable spirit. In the years since, we'd cross paths occasionally and while I knew he had been in and out of treatment more times, not once did he ever mention it. He always greeted me with a laugh and a smile regardless of his health and it amazed me every time. I'm proud to call him my Sigma Pi brother and grateful for the opportunity to know him. My deepest sympathies for such a huge loss. I can only hope that knowing he no longer has to fight what has surely been an exhausting battle, will begin to bring you all peace. Rest In Peace my friend, it has been an honor.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Jerry at McLoone’s. Every day he lit up the room as soon as he came in with the brightest smile, a bright light! His optimism, courage, and positivity were ALWAYS an inspiration. We had each other’s back at work; it was a blessing to be able to call him my friend! Although he will be missed terribly, take comfort knowing that Jerry’s light will never be extinguished. He is now in God’s kingdom; God has prepared a special place for Jerry. His light will shine on, in you and around you. May the Holy Spirit guide you and protect your families today and every day. Listen to God's voice through prayer.
