Robert Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend died suddenly after a long brave battle with prostate cancer. Bob will be remembered and admired by his family and friends for his courage, loving, generous and compassionate spirit and sense of humor. He was born in Monticello, NY on December 24, 1944. He lived in New York City before moving to the Freehold area in 1971 .He proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army. He was very grateful to be employed for over 35 years by Daytop Village Inc., a rehabilitation program for youth and adults suffering from the disease of addiction. He was promoted to Vice President because of his "hard work ethic", commitment to the goals of the organization and appreciation for the resiliency of the human spirit. He will be missed every day by his wife of 41 years, Veronica; his son Adam and daughter-in-law Sandra, grandchildren Maddy, 9, Jack, 8; his son Christopher and future daughter in law, Marina; his daughter Liana and son-in-law, Chad, grandchildren, Caleb, 5 and Maya 1; his brother John and sister-in-law, Patti; two sisters Elsa, and Mary and brother-in-law Gary; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends too numerous to mention by name. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Elsa and Ross Babcock; his mother Catherine; and his brother-in-law, Chris Karas. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, Dec. 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 22nd, at 10:00 AM, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold, followed by a repast at the American Hotel, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of three of Bob's favorite charities, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, Daytop Village Inc. or Wounded Warriors.
