Obituary of Joseph Pittala

Joseph Pittala, 88, of Freehold passed away on July 18, 2017 at Centra State Medical Center also in Freehold. Born in Brooklyn NY, Joseph served in the Army during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he went to New York University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, and was a civil engineer with Merck & Co. for more than 30 years. He has resided in Freehold for the past 50 years. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Anita, in 2011. He is survived by his daughters Linda and Maria Pittala, Teresa Carlin, and Barbara Pittala; and 9 grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to gather at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main Street on Thursday, July 20th from 2:00 to 4:00PM, and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. There will be a funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday, July 21st at 10:00 AM, followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum.
