Obituary of James A. Dowd

James Dowd, 71, of Marlboro, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2016. Born in Rahway, he lived in Kenilworth before moving to Marlboro 31 years ago. James was a Retired Sergeant for The State of New Jersey Special Operations K-9 Unit. He was a Veteran of The United States Army and a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church, Marlboro. James is survived by his devoted wife Amalia; Two loving daughters, Kelly, Lauren and Grant Vanacour, and beloved Granddaughter Lily James Vanacour, who was named in his honor, all of Marlboro; Brothers William and Bonnie Dowd, FL, Michael and Donna Dowd, Tinton Falls; Sisters Barbara Sims, Kathleen and Frank Sperduto. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Wednesday, August 10th, from 4pm to 6:00pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North 07726.
