There are an infinite amount of stories that I could tell about Grandma Rosie however, almost all of them end the same way: her cursing in Italian. As I sit here and think about all of the stories and contributions she has made with every single person that she knew, one thing about her truly sticks out in my mind. Not only will the Tilton's missing this beautiful, loving woman...they will be missing something even greater than that. Half of the time, she would be standing at the front door greeting every person that came through the house, making them feel welcomed and comfortable. If she wasn't at the front door, she was either sitting in her room on her infamously comfy chair watching soap operas, or she was in the kitchen cooking up something tasty for the family for that night to come. No matter where she was, as soon as I would take one step into the Tilton household, I would hear, "Lia, is that you? Get your a** over here and come give me a kiss hello". Hearing her tone of voice never failed to make me chuckle. She always knew it was me walking into the house without seeing me (still not sure how she did that). Even if I thought she was talking to her granddaughter Leah*, I would always respond in the hopes that she was calling for me. Being greeted at the house by Grandma Rosie was wonderful but what was even better, was when she said her "so longs" at the front door. You always knew it was going to be a good day/night when she would stand at the front door and wave goodbye to you as you hopped in your car and pulled away. To me, this was her way of saying, "You are always welcome here...please, come back soon". Grandma Rosie always made me feel like I was part of the family...better yet, I always felt like another granddaughter to her. And for that, I could not be thankful enough. Not one day will go by where I won't think about you Grandma Rosie. You will always be missed, especially entering and leaving the Tilton household without hearing your voice. I love you so much xoxo
Your Other Little Italian Granddaughter,
Lia Florentine

I feel blessed to have known Rosie. From the first day I met her i knew she was a women with a heart of gold. I remember when I lived across from Diane, Rosie would be at her house every Easter making Pizzagaina and every Easter she would cut one of the many she made just to send over for me. I can honestly say Rosie made the best Pizzagaina Ive ever had. She was definitely one of a kind. Rest easy Rosie. My heart and prayers are with her family.
