Obituary of Catherine M. Connell

Catherine Connell, 93, of Wedgwood Gardens Nursing Home, Freehold, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, after suffering a stroke in April 2015. Born in Syracuse, NY, she moved to Rochelle Park, NJ in early 1950. She had also resided in Garfield, Toms River and Wrightstown, NJ. Catherine last worked as a pediatric unit secretary at Freehold Hospital for 20 years. She loved working with the children and seeing them returned to their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Emma Windhausen of Syracuse, NY; her husband, Matthew Connell; and siblings, Florence, Dorothea, Thomas and Joseph. Catherine was the first born and last surviving sibling. She is survived by her two sons, James Harper and his wife, Hilde of Toms River and Thomas and his wife, Barbara of Nesconset; her daughter, Kelley Kneisler and her husband, John of Wrightstown; grandchildren, Michele, Kristy, Thomas, Aran, Stefani and Collin; and great grandson, Jackson. Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, May 31, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
