Obituary of Ysis Capo

Ysis Magalis Capo Ramirez died on Sunday, May 24, 2015, in Riverdale, Bronx, NY. Ysis was born on Jan 6, 1939 to Estrella Ramirez Basulto and Juan Capo Pubillones in Guantanamo, Cuba. She arrived from Cuba on the Liberty Flights with her first two children in 1966 in search of a better life. She lived in Washington Heights where she had her last child—a daughter. Ysis was the family expert on films, royalty, celebrities, and the latest weather forecast. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping with her sister, and listening to her favorite old time music. She lived a life full of love and family. She is survived by her son, Julio Rodriguez; her daughter, Isis and her husband Andres Nieto; her daughter, Alina and her husband Edward Salvia; eight grandchildren, Marylin, Julio, Jennifer, Stephanie, Joangie, Jonathan, Melissa and Stacey; seven great grandchildren; her beloved sister, Nelly Capo; and her nephew, Agustin and his wife Amy Garcia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Route 520, Marlboro. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, NJ.
