Obituary of Joseph M. O'Rourke

Joseph M. O'Rourke, 79, of Manalapan, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in the Bronx, NY, he had resided in Manalapan for the past 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan and a proud sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Joe was a retired heavy construction project manager in NYC . He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son who loved his family both near and far. Joe coached Little League while his sons were growing up. He treasured his extended family overseas, his many golfing trips to Ireland and his hole in one. He was predeceased by his daughter, Anne; siblings, Peter, Pat and Peggy. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Brigid; four children and a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and James of Englishtown, Erin and Chris Giuliano of Jackson, and Joseph and Jennifer of Little Egg Harbor; two sisters, Helen and Tina; and five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brandon, Sean, Bryce and Rian. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 26, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
