Obituary of Pietro Turchi
Pietro (Peter) Turchi, 80, of Monroe, NJ passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Peter was born in Gessopalena, Italy and moved to the United States 66 years ago.
He was 18 when he joined the U.S. Army. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Suzanne (Marshall) Turchi who together raised five children in Brooklyn, NY. He was an amazing man, who worked several jobs, while raising a family and going to college at night. He became an accountant and comptroller of Saint Mary’s Hospital in Brooklyn. He was also an artist, loved music, woodwork, soccer, America and most of all his family.
Pietro (Peter) was predeceased by his parents Nicola and Anna Maria Turchi; brothers Dominic, Umberto, Mario and his sister-in-law Maureen Turchi. He is survived by his loving wife Suzanne Turchi; daughters Maddalena Barrese (Robert) and Denise Fiore (Dominick); sons Peter (Lori), Steven (Danielle) and Michael Turchi (Amy). Brothers Consalvo (Maryl), Carmine (Patricia), Enrico (Andrea) and Anthony Turchi (June), sister-in-law’s Vincenza and Rina, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, December 15th , from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday, December 16th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Gabriels Cemetery and Mausoleum in Marlboro, NJ.
