Obituary of Jau-Fei Wang Chen
Mrs. Jau-Fei (Helen) Wang Chen, 80, of Morganville NJ, passed peacefully at home on November 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Jau-Fei was born on February 14, 1944 to Sun Wang and Jau-Chih Chou Wang of Citong Township in Yunlin County, Taiwan. She attended National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan where she met her husband Shiuan-Jau Chen. She married Shiuan-Jau in 1968. Jau-Fei was a teacher of mathematics and English before coming to America in 1970. She loved the United States, its freedoms and its people, eventually becoming a US citizen. She lived in Matawan and Hazlet NJ, before moving to Morganville in 1980 to raise her family.
Jau-Fei was a beloved wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother (Nai Nai), good neighbor and lifelong friend. Full of life, love, laughter, she touched the lives of all who knew her. In her free time, Jau-Fei enjoyed gardening and taking walks in the neighborhood. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, even complete strangers. Her bright smile lit up every room and she exuded warmth and grace to everyone she met.
Jau-Fei is survived by her husband Shiuan-Jau Chen; her children, Eugene Chen, Michael Chen & his wife Jennifer, and Eric Chen; sisters, Shu-Hui Tsai and Su-Yin Lin; brother, Jin-Choung Wang; and her grandchildren, Jocelyn Chen, Ryan Chen, Toby Chen and Jeremy Chen. Jau-Fei was preceded in death by her sister Shu-mei (Wang) Lee of Chamblee GA and her parents in Taiwan.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and home health aide Aida Zhanalieva who provided exceptional care and support to Jau-Fei during her battle with cancer.
