Obituary of Stephanie M. Crowley

Stella Crowley, 95, of Freehold Borough, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth she grew up with her loving family on Sweetman's Lane in Manalapan before moving to Freehold in 1954. She retired in 1980 as Supervising Docket Clerk in the Monmouth County Clerk's office, Court Dept. after 23 years of service of which seven years were served in the Passport and Naturalization Dept. Stella graduated Freehold High School's class of 1938, was a former member and secretary of the Freehold Borough Republican Club, a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Parish and former member of St. Rose Senior Citizen Club. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Thomas Michael in 1996; parents, Joseph and Sophie Nowak Gawron; and four loving brothers, Joseph (Mickey) in 1970, Walter in 1980, John in 1985 and Theodore in 1987. Stella is survived by three nephews and a niece, Walter and John Gawron of Freehold, Robert Gawron of Columbus, and Patricia Gawron Burdge of Freehold. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, April 16, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
