Obituary of Milton Straus

Milton Straus, 80, of Freehold, NJ, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at CentraState Medical Center. Milton was born in Queens, New York and moved to New Jersey 51 years ago.  Milton had many hobbies that he loved which included golf, fishing, collecting baseball memorabilia, watching the Mets, traveling and going to Broadway shows.  Milton was an animal lover, often being referred to as the “dog and cat Whisperer”.  Above all else Milton loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He had a sense of humor that will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Milton was predeceased by his parents Kurt and Jacqueline Straus and sister Brenda Kaplan (Sam Kaplan).  He is survived by his loving wife Jean Straus; daughters Alicia Straus and Cindy Weiss (Jason Weiss) and grandchildren Jacob Weiss and Paige Weiss.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Wednesday, September 25^th , from 10:00AM to 11:00AM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.  A funeral service will be held at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Monmouth County SPCA in Milton’s name.
