Obituary of Betty A. Perro

Betty A. Perro, 95, of Freehold, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at The Jewish Home in Freehold. Born in Neptune, Betty was raised on the farmlands of Freehold. It is in Freehold where she and her husband, Richard, met and raised their family and had their close circle of friends.  Betty loved the beach and warm sunshine on her face, but her greatest joy was her family.  There were shared Sundays by the pool, holiday dinners, birthday celebrations and much laughter.  These are comforting memories for her family.

Before her retirement Betty was secretary to the superintendent of the Monmouth County Vocational School District, as well as board secretary.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Richard; her parents Wilbur and Margaret McElwaine and her daughter Elaine Schuler. She is survived by her children Linda and Dr. Gregory Jewell of Freehold, NJ; Richard and Marcia Perro of Joliet, MT; Patricia and Michael Page of Freehold, NJ; Michael and Kellie Perro of Berlin, NJ and Beverly and Charles Miller of Brick, NJ; her brother, Donald McElwaine, of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren Richard and Kristina Page; Matthew and Melissa Page; Jonathan and Dana Page; Dr. Elizabeth Jewell and Jeremy Bailey; Christopher and Beth Jewell; Justin and Marcela Perro; Ethan and Alexandra Perro; Joseph and Christine Schuler; Jenny and Brian Meade; CK and Kristy Miller; Kristen and Andrew Erdely; Dr. Ryan and Makenna Perro; Colin Perro and 24 great grandchildren.

Close friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, September 19th, from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday, September 19^th at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
