Kenneth John Mount, 79, of Freehold, died peacefully on April 5, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Trenton, he has resided in Freehold for the past 79 years. He graduated from Freehold Boro High School, and attended Brookdale Community College. Prior to his retirement he was a Detective Lieutenant of the Freehold Borough Police Department. After retiring from the police department he became a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Kenneth was an extremely strong and hardworking person who loved his family very much. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather (pappy), co-worker, and friend. Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Geraldine; his parents, Charles and Helen; two brothers, Charles and Richie and his sister, Carol Mount. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Christopher of Freehold, Kenneth and Dawn of Hamilton and Frank and Laurie of Freehold; two daughters, Aimee and Kimberly Mount of Freehold; his brother, Joseph of Randolph, VT; sister, Dorothy Norman of Farmingdale and 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha, Andrew, Benjamin and William. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, April 8th from 3-8 PM at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to American Cancer Society, 2310 Highway 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736-1400.
