Obituary of Eric Peter Ericsson

Eric P. Ericsson, 77, of Morganville, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at home with his loving family. Born in Newark, he lived in Maplewood and South Orange before moving to Morganville. Rick was a firefighter for the Maplewood Fire Department while operating his own sign business, Ericsson Advertising. He was a member of the Maplewood Lions Club, the South Orange Elks, and a founding member of Maplewood Packers Football. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mildred Ericsson and his sister, Carla Herbert. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine; his children and their spouses, Donna and Robert Dziobak of Freehold, Carra and Steven Castagnero of Apex, NC, and Bonnie Kokal of Flower Mound, TX; sister, Sondra Bertet of Long Branch; seven grandchildren, Evan, Jake, Brian, Mia, Connor, Blake and Beckett; his mother-in-law, Eugenia Schmid; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 am on Thurs., Aug. 23, at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Marlboro. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
