Obituary of Johnbhai V Macwan
Johnbhai V. Macwan, 89, of Marlboro, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at the CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ.
Johnbhai was born in Karamsad, India. He was a devoted husband, father, and a pillar of strength to all of his family. As an inspirational teacher, many of his family and friends leaned on his wisdom for important advice and guidance.
As he lost both his parents at a very young age, he took on the significant responsibility of caring and supporting his siblings. A self motivated learner, he pursued his education diligently while also working hard in the family business to support his household. These experiences in his formative years instilled in him a tremendous resiliency, an innate desire to excel in everything he was involved in, and a focus on a purposeful life. Even more importantly, he developed a deep faith in Christ at a young age that he carried with him, including praising the Lord during his last waking moments.
Through his determination and hard work, he became a teacher. He was deeply devoted to his profession and to his students. For 30+ years, he was a beloved and highly respected seventh grade teacher of over a thousand students, including all four of his children.
He displayed a subtle yet deeply profound devotion to his wife as a husband. He wholeheartedly engaged in aiding his wife's own demanding service as a nurse while she served the healthcare needs of people in local communities.
Here in the USA, his determined journey began afresh with a transition from a teaching profession to being a store manager with long hours, from the early morning to the late evening enduring long commutes.
He was resolute to ensure all his children received the best education and took tremendous pride in their growth and success. Admittedly, he reserved his widest smiles and expressions of joy and pride for his grandchildren -- whether he was attending their music recitals, their school graduations, or hearing the news of their first internships.
He is survived by his wife Meena Macwan; daughter Shilpa Macwan (Pardeep) of Monroe, NJ; son Raj Macwan (Riya) of Marlboro NJ; daughter Sangita Mascillaro (Giacomo) of Freehold NJ; son Sanjay Macwan (Madhavi) of Marlboro NJ; and grandchildren Andrew, Meha, Emma, Mihir, Reina, and Keya.
Family and friends are invited for the viewing on Friday, May 10th, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., a memorial service from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m, and the repass dinner from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., all at Monmouth Worship Center, 37 Vanderburg Road, Marlboro, NJ 07746.
