Obituary of Irma Peraza

Irma Peraza, 97, of Woodbridge, NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, peacefully at home. Irma was born in Puerto Rico before moving to the United States where she lived until her retirement at the age of 55. She then returned to Puerto Rico and volunteered at a public library and hospital reading to children with cancer.  In 2002, Irma moved back to The United States where she lived in Brooklyn, NY for 20 years before settling in Woodbridge, NJ.  

 

Irma was predeceased by her parents Jose and Amelia and loving husband Martin Peraza-Garcia; sisters Lydia Lasa (Michael) and Doris Mamora (Michael); brothers Pete Rivera, Jose Rivera and Jesus Rivera. She is survived by her daughter Diana Cochran (John); son Martin Peraza (Anabel); grandchildren Jason, LisaMarie, Christopher, Martin, Christopher, Jolette and great-grandchildren Damien, Zoe, Penelope, Abigail, Stuart and Andres.

 

Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, April 24th , from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.  A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Manalapan, NJ on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date at Los Angeles Memorial Park in Puerto Rico.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.  To leave a condolence or find directions, visit www.freemanfuneralhomes.com
