Obituary of Marion Fuhrman

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With a heavy heart we bid goodbye to Marion Fuhrman, age 86, of Salt Lake City, UT, who embarked on her final adventure on Monday, April 1, 2024. Marion, a true New Yorker through and through, began her journey in Brooklyn, NY, where she worked for the UN Consulate for Pakistan before moving to Matawan, NJ in 1966.

In Matawan, Marion's creativity knew no bounds as she transformed into the ‘MiniBuilder’ launching a dollhouse miniature store on Main Street. For over a remarkable quarter-century, she and her sister, Eileen, wielded their magic, conjuring up custom dollhouses and miniature furniture, delighting patrons with their tiny and elegant creations.

But Marion was not just a master of tiny worlds; she was also a beacon of love and generosity in the lives of those around her. Known for her legendary holiday parties, Marion ensured that no soul left her gatherings with an empty stomach, her feasts rivaling those of the most lavish banquets.

When not weaving culinary enchantments, Marion found solace in her passions for knitting, needlepointing, and wrapping loved ones in the warmth of her handmade Afghan blankets.  These labors of love were not mere hobbies but heartfelt gifts that she bestowed upon her cherished friends and family.

Though she bids farewell to her beloved husband ‘Bernie’, who journeyed ahead in 2016, and her sister Eileen Levin in 2019, Marion leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her four children Leslee Feldman, David Fuhrman, Eric Fuhrman, and Steven Fuhrman; a lively brood of ten grandchildren and a brigade of five great-grandchildren, each a testament to Marion's enduring spirit.

In lieu of flowers, Marion's family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of Marion's memory and in support of the countless others affected by this devastating disease.  Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will forever dance in the memories she leaves behind.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM on April 7th at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Marlboro, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Rt. 9 North, Manalapan, NJ  07726.  To leave a message of condolence or find directions to the cemetery, please visit www.freemanfuneralhomes.com
