Obituary of Chong S Jung

Chong S. Jung, 76, of Freehold, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.  Chong was born in China and moved to the United States on December 24, 1966.  Prior to retirement, Chong worked at his family’s restaurant as a waiter and packed takeout orders.  He loved to play mahjong and could be found at the horse track in Freehold, NJ or in Atlantic City.

Chong was predeceased by his parents Won Loy and Choy Lin and brother Chong Sau (Johnny).  He is survived by his wife Helen Jung, sons Steven Jung (Cynthia), Thomas Jung and Victor Jung; daughter Elaine Kung (Nelson); brothers David Jung and Jimmy Jung; sisters Judy Jung and Fai Jung and grandchildren Nathaniel, Alyssa, Evangelina, Emily and Jonathan.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, March 21st, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.  A funeral service will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on Friday, March 22nd at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freehold, NJ.
