Obituary of Beverly Elizabeth Christensen

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On February 13, 2024 one of God's angels here on earth, Beverly Christensen age 83 of Newton New Jersey was called home to take her place in heaven. Beverly was dearly loved and will be missed by all those whose lives she has touched. Beverly was born on July 20th, 1940 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. As a teenager growing up in the 50's, while most girls her age were wearing dresses and kitten heels, Beverly could be found usually wearing jeans and playing stickball. To those that knew Bev, it was no surprise in 1959 when she married Cliff, a boy that wore cowboy boots and chewed tobacco. The two of them were a match made in heaven and walked through every aspect of life hand and hand throughout their 64 years together. After the birth of their son Clifford in 1960 Bev and Cliff moved to Bensonhurst and had their daughter Doreen in 1964. They lived there for nearly 30 years before moving to Crandon Lakes in Newton, New Jersey to enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. Living across the road from the lake, with views of the lake from her kitchen window, Bev easily acclimated to her cozy new home. One of Bev's most cherished pastimes was going fishing on their pontoon boat with her husband Cliff, family, and friends. Bev also enjoyed yard sales, state fairs, antique browsing, watching wrestling and just being silly. Material items held very little value to Bev, unless it held a sentimental attachment to it. The most valuable things to Bev were her family and friends and the memories of time spent with those she loved.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Clifford Christensen; son Clifford Christensen, wife Annamaria; daughter Doreen Simon, husband Steven; granddaughter Nicole and beloved sister Carol Mazzone.

Family and Friends are invited to attend her memorial gathering on Saturday March 2nd from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. To leave a condolence or find directions please visit, www.freemanfuneralhomes.com.
