Obituary of Barbara J Wilson

Barbara J. Wilson, 72, of Freehold, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.  Barbara was a graduate of St. Catherine of Siena, Cedar Grove (Class of ‘65), Mount St. Dominic Academy, Caldwell (Class of ‘69) and Seton Hall University, South Orange (Class of ‘73). 

 

After school, Barbara enjoyed a long and varied career in business. She started work life at Township of Cedar Grove, Department of Tax Collection. Later she joined Mobile Oil Corporation in NYC. She worked in Litigation Support and made lifelong friends there. In 1988, she moved with the company headquarters to Fairfax, VA. When she returned to NJ in 1997, she embarked on a new career as Project Manager for several medical software firms - QuadraMed, AlphaSystems, and DataBank.

 

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Albon and Viola Wilson and her sweet, sweet dog, Percy. She is survived by her daughter Alexandra Wilson Fernandez (Jonathan) and sisters Patricia Wilson and Mary Beth Wilson (Charles Fraser).

 

Barbara loved to entertain family and friends and Christmas Eve at her house was always special. She traveled to Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii and many of the states, but returned again and again to the place of her childhood - the beautiful, rocky coast of Maine. Barbara was a kind, loving and generous person. She was devoted to her daughter and was there always for her family and friends. She loved and was loved in return.
