I offer my condolences on Shirley's passing. I remember the whimsical gourd creatures that she made every fall. So creative.

Ooh my buddy, Shirley!
I often wondered about you over the years since you retired from BOC, and moved to Jackson, NJ. What fun we had at BOC. We had a barrel of laughs all the time Shirley as you were one of the funniest people I knew. How many lunch hours did I spend hanging with you in the Lobby at 575 Mountain Avenue? And I enjoyed every minute of it. You were so special.
I pray the GOD of all comfort will bless and keep your honey, Pete and your lovely children and grandchildren.
Rest in Peace my friend. I will never forget you!

Dino and I have the fondest memories of Shirley. She was a powerful light in this world, a wonderful caring neighbor and dear friend to our family. Shirley was our son, Dean's Confirmation Sponsor and he always referred to her as "Aunt Shirley." She touched our hearts. Our family sends our sympathy to Pete and family.

My thoughts and prayers are for Shirley's family.
There are really no words of comfort with such an unexpected sadness.
Shirley and I shared a friendship for over 35 years.
There was always a constant amount of words to share and an amazing amount of laughter.
I, like everyone who knew her, will miss her but will always keep her in our hearts.
Goodbye to one of life's joys,
Mary Ann Christian

I will always remember Shirley's smile and how she could tell a story. She drew you in and had you hanging on every word waiting for the punch line, or kicker or tidbit that would unbelievable. I think I first met her at the Pocono house after Pete and Missy got engaged. Lots of laughs that weekend. I am so glad that her grandchildren had her in their lives. Nana was loved by all of them and the time they spent with her made her life that much richer and everlasting. Sending love, prayers and hugs from Pittsburgh. - The Showalter Family

Our hearts and prayers are with Pete, Peter, Kristine, her much loved grandchildren and family.
The picture you posted of her is beautiful, and exactly how I remember Shirley. My memories of
Shirley are of the wonderful hilarity she always brought to the Lee’s annual New Year’s Eve
celebration for many years (we laughed till we cried, especially Mary); her everyday humor was
a gift and shared with everyone… her stories and her smile. My memory of her loving devotion
to Pete and her family will always be cherished. She loved you all so very much.

Shirley had a gift to make people
Laugh. Whenever she made an announcement after our church service, she did it with spontaneous humor. She was a dedicated first holy
Communion teacher who shepherded at least 100+ students through our process. She was the liaison for many years for Christmas gift and food collections for a poor parish in Newark.
