Obituary of Georgetta Badea

Please share a memory of Georgetta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Georgetta Badea, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at Bayshore Medical Hospital, Holmdel NJ. She was born on August 9th, 1927, to Mihail and Niculina Teodorescu in Bucharest Romania.

Georgetta was a beloved mother and grandmother, or as she liked to be called “Buni” (pronounced Boony) by her much beloved granddaughter Stephanie. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, love for her family, and passion for cooking. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Georgetta was known for her love of family, and dedication to her husband and son. In 1973 she emigrated to the US with her son Daniel, and she became a US Citizen in 1986. She learned to speak English and learned how to drive. More importantly she learned to adapt to a new world.

Georgetta Badea is survived by her son Daniel, his wife Annette, and granddaughter Stephanie Rose Badea. She is preceded in death by her husband Constantin Badea who passed away in 1997.

A funeral liturgy to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 11:00 AM, at St Gabriel’s Historic Church, located at 549 Rt. 520 Marlboro NJ 07746. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s cemetery on the same property. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer Association http://alz.org/ (an organization that supports research to end this terrible disease) in memory of Georgetta Badea.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and condolences received during this difficult time. Please join us in remembering and honoring the life of Georgetta Badea. A wonderful mother grandmother / Buni, and inspiring human being.
