Obituary of Robert A. Riegert sr

Robert A. Riegert Sr., 83, of Manalapan, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Alsace, Lorraine, France, he has resided in Manalapan for the past 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan and a member of the American Legion Post 434, Englishtown. Bob owned and operated Rosebuds Ice Cream Shop on Route 9, Manalapan until retiring in 2001. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria in 1994 and his sons, Robert Jr. and Archie. He is survived by his three children and two daughters-in-law, Todd of Ocean City, Kevin and Peggy of Toms River, Lorrie Riegert of Manalapan, and Susan Riegert of Rhode Island; sister, Margaret Matthews of Virginia; and six grandchildren, Robert A. III, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Matthew, Nicole and Emma. Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, March 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment will be private.
