Obituary of Joan M Manos

Joan M. Manos, 81 of Howell, NJ passed away, Sunday, December 10, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Twp., NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband James in 2019 and is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Jacqueline of Howell; Chris and Nancy of Freehold Twp and Alexander and Chelsea of Woodland Hills, CA; and a sister Agnes and Brother-in-law Sal of Staten Island, NY. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren James, Jordyn, John, Demetrius, Samantha, Andrew and Lily as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, She was the youngest of 6 siblings. She moved to Staten Island in 1969 where, along with her husband Jimmy of 55 years, she raised their 3 sons. She was a devoted homemaker who adored her family. She was an avid bowler at Sunset Lanes for many years with a high game of 286. She was also heavily involved as a team mother for many years in Great Kills LL and SI PeeWee Football for her boys. Later in life she enjoyed traveling, spending time down the Jersey Shore with family, and watching her grandchildren play sports.

A visitation will be on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ 07726. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:30am at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Freehold Twp., NJ.
