Obituary of Daniel M Kaplan

Daniel M. Kaplan, 78 of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.  He was born in New York City, and grew up in Brooklyn until his teenage years then moved to Red Bank, NJ.  Daniel went to college in Storm Lake, Iowa and served in the Army National Guard in the 1960’s.  He was a certified public accountant and worked for various businesses. 

Daniel was an avid skier and belonged to the 70+ Ski Club.  He had a love for photography and he volunteered his time passionately as a photographer for Camp Chatterbox of NJ.  This camp was very important to him as it is a therapy camp for non-verbal or severely speech-impaired children, their siblings and families. 

Daniel’s best-known attribute was that of a caregiver, chef and chauffeur extraordinaire to his wife.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Audrey and two sons Seth and Aaron; his grandson Tristin; his niece Pam and husband Mike; his nephews, Brad and wife Kristin and Nick and wife Olga.  

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold, NJ  07728.
