Obituary of Andrea Natale

Andrea Natale, 96 of Manalapan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 2, 2023.   He was born in Naples, Italy and served in the Italian Navy during WWI.  Andrea worked on cruise ships departing from Italy and arriving in New York.  His passion for food began while cooking on the cruise ships.  He owned Angelinas Restaurant on Staten Island.  He also worked as an executive chef for the V.P. and CEO of Manhattan Savings Bank in NYC.  Prior to his retirement, Andrea waited tables at LaFontana on Staten Island until the age of 86.  Andrea was an avid reader and taught himself English.

He was predeceased by his wife Velia and son Anthony.  He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Dominick Amoia of Manalapan, NJ; Lidia and William Olson of Manalapan, NJ; 5 grandchildren, Dominick Amoia, Michelle Dooney and Anthony Amoia; William and Christopher Olson; and 6 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas, Christopher Dooney, Dean Olson, Aubrey and Gabriella Chuss.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Rt. 9 North, Manalapan, NJ  07726.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Thomas More R.C.
