Obituary of Sophie Kiwit

Sophie Kiwit, 97, of Freehold passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 peacefully at home.  Sophie, her husband Joseph and two daughters, Irene and Jad immigrated to America in December 1951 from Bremerhaven, Germany.

Sophie took great pride in her cooking and baking making traditional Polish dishes.  She also worked for several local companies as a seamstress.

Sophie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1995 and her daughter Irene and her husband William Stromberg.

Sophie is survived by her loving daughter Jad, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Laura and grandchildren Kristen Shatz, husband Mitchell, Jillian Pullen, husband Stephen and William Stromberg Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Joseph Shatz and Charleigh Pullen.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:30-10:30am at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold, NJ  07728.  A graveside service will follow at 11:00am at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold Township, NJ.
