Obituary of Rosa Pizzolato

Rosa Pizzolato, 84, of Freehold Twp, NJ passed away at home on Sunday, October 22, 2023.  She was born in Buseto Palizzolo Sicily, Italy and worked as a seamstress.  Rosa was affectionately known as the “Best mother in the world” as she was a wonderful cook and known for her desserts.  Her cannolis and cookies were the best and “no one could compare to hers.”  Rosa’s greatest joy was her family, her three children and especially her three granddaughters.  She treasured family gatherings, traditions and holidays.

She was predeceased by her husband, Giacomo in 2015 and her 7 siblings.  She is survived by her three children and their spouses Rosa and Guy Principe of Freehold, NJ, Ciro and Ourania Pizzolato of Suffern, NY, Vita and Mario Cottone of Eustis, Florida; her three grandchildren Donna, Samantha and Sofia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ  07726.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00am at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold, NJ.  Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Marlboro, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.st.jude.org or the National MS Society of New Jersey at www.nationalmssociety.org.
