Obituary of Francesco Mannella

Francesco Mannella, 86, of Manalapan, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Wedgewood Gardens Care Center in Freehold, NJ. He loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren lit up his life. Francesco enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  He enjoyed going to Atlantic City in his spare time.  In the summertime he liked to go crabbing. Francesco was an avid soccer fan and loved the Argentinian soccer team, often spending his time watching the sport on the sidelines and on tv.  The New York Yankees ranked just as high as one of his favorite teams.

He was born in Reggio, Calabria in Italy and then as a teenager went to Buenos Aires Argentina until his young adult years with his parents.  He came to the United States of America in 1967 and became an American citizen. Francesco became a business owner of a dry cleaner in Brooklyn, NY where he was favored highly by the community. 

He married the love his life, Angela Favorito whom he had three children with and was a dedicated husband and father. 

Francesco was predeceased by his father Nicola; mother Angela; his loving spouse Angela Mannella; and son Nicholas Mannella.  He is survived by his daughters Roseanne (Richard) Santo and Claudia (Christopher) Mennella and grandchildren Matthew, Nicole, Julian and Nicholas.                                        

Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, September 25th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM and Tuesday September 26th from 9:00AM to 9:45AM at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ.  A funeral service will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on Monday evening during visitation hours 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
