Obituary of James Anastasio
James Anastasio, 92, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Sunnyside Manor. James was born in Brooklyn, New York, and resided in Manalapan, NJ for 41 years before moving to Jackson.
James worked at American Re-Insurance for over 30 years as Vice President and Treasurer. He had a very successful career in the Re-insurance industry and was highly regarded by his peers and colleagues. He was featured in the publication of Who’s Who in America and traveled to many places consulting in his field of expertise. In his spare time, he was involved with the St. Thomas More Parish and was Past Grand Night and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 5903. He loved to golf and spend time with his family and many lifelong friends. He was generous, kind and a man of faith.
James was predeceased by his wife Lucy and brothers Billy and Tommy and sister Silvia. James is survived by his son Michael and his wife Amy; daughter Janis Masco and her husband Pasquale; beloved granddaughter, Anastasia, sisters Adeline and Jackie and brothers Anthony and Nicki as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, September 11th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas RC Church, Manalapan, on September 12th at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
