Obituary of Linda Jean Spangle
Linda Spangle, n'ee Matsko died due to complications of ALS/Lou Gehrig disease.
She was born and raised in Jersey City and graduated from Christ Hospital School of Nursing. After moving to Old Bridge, NJ, she worked in Summerhill Nursing Home. Later she moved to Manalapan, NJ and worked in CentraState Medical Center formerly called Freehold Area Hospital and then in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital becoming certified in oncology. After retiring she devoted her time in the history of the area and served as a trustee on the boards of Battleground Historical Assocation at the Village Inn in Englishtown, the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield and the Manalapan Historical Committee. Linda also joined the MRC-CERT of Manalapan.
Linda was predeceased by her husband John and is survived by her daughter Jennifer and her son Kevin an his wife Karla. She also leaves her four granddaughters. She leaves good friends who have been there for her for many years Connie, Helen and Doug. Also thanks to her caregiver and friend Maria Matthews. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Joan Dancy Foundation.
Friends and family are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, August 11th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home. A service will be held during the visitation at 6:00PM.
