Josephine and Carmen are such a special couple. It has also been my privilege to meet so many other members of their family as well. Throughout my ministry at St Thomas More, both Josephine and Carmen had been a weekly support during Coffee Hour in the Petri Hall. Upon hearing of Josephine's illness, I have been praying for her even though I am now further away from Manalapan and the family has been in my thoughts and prayers.as well. May your Christian Faith be a comfort to you at this time. Our promise of eternal life means that our separation from loved ones is only temporary. Yet the sadness and loneliness cannot be denied. You want to reach out and talk or ask her something and then once again realize the separation. But the legacy Josephine has left is very important at this time. Her spiritual gifts of love,guidance, support and self-denial are something that you each will have with you. In some ways Josephine has been preparing others for her departure during the last few months and now she is at peace. It is my sincere wish that each family member be blessed by the Holy Name of Jesus in your heart and your life, both now and forever as you live out the seeds that Josephine planted and nourished in the garden of her life. Our hearts truly go out to Jay’s whole family. Losing the matriarch of the family is a terrible loss. Jay was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. You could not find a sweeter, kinder person than Jay. Over several years Jay and Carmine were part of our “crazy group of friends”. We shared a lot of fun times together. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Arlene and John Basselini
