Obituary of Nicolino Sergio

Nicolino Sergio, 84, was born in San Pietro in Valley, Italy.  Nicolino resided in Freehold and was a former 40-year resident of Upper Saddle River NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Nicolino and his wife, Elizabeth, had moved to Freehold 9 years ago. Nicolino owned a successful tile-marble-plastering business where his tag line was “Why call the rest call the Best”. After retiring, he spent his spare time maintaining his 2-acre property where he loved to mow the lawn, trim the trees, plant flowers and spent hours in his garden. Nicolino was known for his vast garden, bright red tomatoes and his spicy arugula.

Nicolino was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth Sergio and his sister Annina Ciampittiello. He is survived by his two sons, Anthony Sergio of Westwood NJ and Nicholas Sergio (Anita) of Marlboro NJ, sisters Aurora Tartaglia and Mimma Sansotta. Nicolino was also a cherished grandfather of his four grandchildren, Gabriella, Nicholas, Adrianna and Ciprian.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral liturgy at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, 549 Route 520 Marlboro, New Jersey 07746 on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 11:00am.
