Obituary of Walter John Turchak jr

Walter John Turchak, 63, of Manalapan, passed away at home with his family, on Monday, February 23, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, he lived on Staten Island before moving to Manalapan 24 years ago. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Englishtown and was a bond trader for Gruntal & Co. in Manhattan for many years. Walter was an avid golfer but his greatest joy was watching his sons play sports. He was predeceased by his father, Walter John. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elise; his two sons, Walter John III of Sayreville and Nicholas Anthony of Hoboken; his mother, Margaret of Brooklyn, NY; and his siblings, Dr. Ronald Turchak of Brooklyn, NY and Valerie Cassano of Valley Stream, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Englishtown. Interment will be private.
