Obituary of James Vincent Carara

James Vincent Carara, "Jimmy”, 85, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Jimmy was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.  He served honorably in the Army on both active and reserve duty while stationed in Ft. Hood, TX and Ft. Dix, NJ. Jim then went on to have a 24-year career in the NYPD at both the 1^st Precinct and the Intelligence Division. He had a great love for his family and friends and was especially known for his love of the Sunday dinner full of macaroni and gravy. Later in life he met a new four-legged friend Leo, who would lick his Pop-Pop into uncontrollable laughter.       

Jim was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Mary Carara and his siblings Anthony Carara, Loretta Kahn and Rosemarie Sweeden. He is survived by his loving wife Noreen Carara; son Matthew Carara and daughter in law Jennifer; and grandchildren Nicole, Danielle, and James.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, April 18, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.
