James Edward May, 88, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 at home. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and resided in Manalapan for the past 57 years. James served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Before retiring James was a Vice President for Options Marketing with Merrill Lynch. He enjoyed many activities such as wine making, bocce, reading and walking in his community daily. One of his favorite things was making martinis for his grandchildren. His most treasured hobby was playing his guitar, which he did since he was in grammar school. James played in several bands over the years, but his favorite time playing was with his friends Darla & Rich. He absolutely loved it. James was very active in his community of Covered Bridge II where he previously served on the board. James was known by his neighbors as an extremely giving and caring person.

His greatest love was his wife Isabella who preceded him, they were married for 61 years. He was also preceded by his grandson Michael, his mother Josephine, father Lawrence, brother Jerry and sisters Frances, Bridget and Agatha. James is survived by 2 children, daughter Donna A. Heim (Greg) and son James J. May (Jennifer); 7 grandchildren who were the light of his life, Nicole (Chris), Jillian, Melissa (Matt), Jennifer (Michael), Robert (Allison), and Kayla; and his great-grandchildren who he adored Sophia, Isabella and Gracie.
