Obituary of John J Niesz III

John J Niesz III, 81 of Whiting, NJ passed away on January 28th, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the former Carole Ann Simon of Irvington, NJ. John grew up in Springfield, NJ. He was a proud graduate of Seton Hall Prep, Seton Hall University and obtained a graduate degree from the University of Virginia. John was an executive commercial banker who also owned an armored car service and collection agency. John’s career spanned the opening and founding of Community National Bank in Staten Island, First National State Bank, Gateway State bank, and working for the F.D.I.C.  John also taught accounting at American Banking Institute.  John was a member of Knights of Columbus and was President of Middlesex Northern Monmouth Pop Warner Association, St. Joseph Keyport Baseball and Basketball CYO, Mater Dei Booster Club, little league coach and a member numerous of civic organizations throughout his career.  

John leaves behind his beloved wife Carole of 59 years, sister in law Roberta Niesz, daughter Karen and son-in-law Glenn, son Edward and daughter-in-law MariKate, son John J. Niesz IV and daughter-in-law Nancy, his beloved grandchildren Jeffrey, Lauren, Jack, Quinn, Vincent, Amanda, George and Connor. John was predeceased by his mother Helen, father John J. Niesz II and his brother Thomas.  

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday January 31st from 3:00pm - 7:00pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday February 1st at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please cheer on the Seton Hall Pirates Basketball team.
